Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv (/ʊg/ /ˈji̘gsuv/ [view; panorama] [religious]) is a subtropical Town located in the Sti̊ci̊q Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv was founded by Ethral Williams Morgan, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv receives an average of 250 cm/y (98 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1400 m (4593 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv was founded durring the early 15th century in spring of the year 1421, by Ethral Williams Morgan. The establishment of Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv is buildings are arranged arround a network of spacious split-log ties streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a series of wooden fences ringing the town's parimiter, which are likly intended to keep varrious beasts out of town rather than protect it from attack by any intelegent agents. Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv's bare minimum defences are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Right off the bat Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Many of those buildings are schools, scriptoriums, and even one college. One can only wonder what knowledge the town has come into.

Civic Infrastructure

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv's grid is powered by hydrogalvanic generators.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Cultural Notes

The locals have cut a deal with some unspeakable entity, trading some form of tribute (benign of horrific) in exchange for the being’s forbearance or assistance. Outsiders may be ignorant of the bargain, or they may know that the community is in thrall but be too fearful of its master to take action against them. The creature likely serves as a protector as well as a tyrant, so the locals may be content with the deal even if it doesn’t offer any further inducement or aid.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is short in Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv.

The Dlurgraven near Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Odíhg Ùgji̊gsuv's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves consuming a local toxin to channel Mysticism energies of tier 2 via throat singing.
